3 REASONS WHY CARDI B IS WINNING AND YOU’RE STRUGGLING
Every year we stumble upon that one person who seems to get famous out of nowhere. That’s what most people think…Cardi B is 2K17s most influentuial branding icon. I’ve been following Cardi B on Instagram for the past 4 years, ever since I decided to go full fledge in the entertainment business and to live up to my full potential by creating my own brand. A very close friend of Cardi B turned me on to her and I’ve been watching her flourish these past few years. Since watching Cardi B hit the pavement and take off running, I’ve studied some of her branding techniques on social media and you will be amazed at the small details that has played a major factor in her success. Pay attention!
KNOW YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE
Cardi B makes no mistake about knowing who her target audience is. Cardi know’s that her target audience is the middle aged urban community. She uses catchy phrases such as “shumoney” on her platforms which is safe to say we can add to the urban dictionary now.
- Geographic, demographic and psychographic are the three main ways you can find your target market.
BE AUTHENTICALLY YOU
You can either love Cardi or hate Cardi but she’s going to be around for a minute. She’s not afraid to tell her audience (social media platforms) where she came from, her life situations and a snippet of her love life. For crying out loud, Cardi told her social media platform that she is a domestic violence survivor. If that doesn’t show you how real she is then at this point you need to talk to Jesus.
- Just be you. Don’t be afraid to express who you are. If people can’t relate to you, then those people aren’t your target audience. The hell with them…..
TELL YOUR STORY
The Bronx native isn’t afraid to tell her audience where she came from, her dark past and who’s new in her life. Cadi B uses Twitter and Instagram to tell her life story and you can even find her sending out positive messages to her fans.
- Every brand and every person has a story to tell on how they ended up where they are now. Tell your narrative. Remember, there are others out there just like you who are going through the same thing so it’s easy for those people to relate to you and your brand.
When creating your business plan and/or SWOT analysis always keep your target audience in mind. You’ll be more effective in your marketing strategies and be able to get a greater return on your marketing investments.
