THE REAL KELDAMUZIK
NADIA WORSLEY: WHAT MADE YOU VENTURE INTO MUSIC?
KELDAMUZIK: I ventured into music because I love performing and making sounds. I started off acting and modeling when I was a child then eventually music captured my interest.
NADIA WORSLEY: WHAT MADE YOU GET INTO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?
KELDAMUZIK: After working with a variety of producers and creating my first album and realizing that people actually like when they heard, I felt that I belonged in the music industry. From there, I started collaborating with other artists, touring and recording more tracks.
NADIA WORSLEY: WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE THIS TYPE OF GENRE?
KELDAMUZIK: I’ve always had a passion for Hip Hop. The vibe that it leaves you with the lyrics that people can relate to and most of all, the beat is what people turn up to in the clubs, in the car, the list goes on. I want to be that artist who is known for always making hits.
NADIA WORSLEY: CAN YOU TALK ABOUT THAT ONE DEFINING MOMENT WHEN YOU KNEW YOU WANTED TO B E A MUSICIAN?
KELDAMUZIK: I remember recording my first song and the verse was just sloppy as ever, but overall the song was good. When I performed it at a talent show, I just remember people coming up to me and telling me that I was going to make it. Right then and there, I knew for sure KELDAMUZIK was officially in the making.
NADIA WORSLEY: DOES YOUR MUSIC CARRY A PARTICULAR MESSAGE OR IS IT MEANT FOR PURE PLEASURE?
KELDAMUZIK: Both! I make music for everyone. Whether it’s your granny, uncle, kid, or sister, I make music that can touch the soul in variety of ways. I can do club songs, then I can do a slow smooth song or a real sexy, hot romantic track. This is why I call myseld KELDAMUZIK, because there is no limit to my ability when it comes to creating versatile music.
NADIA WORSLEY: WHAT CHALLENGES HAVE YOU HAD TO FACE IN YOUR CHOSEN CAREER?
KELDAMUZIK: LOTS!!! LOL. I don’t lmow where to begin. Mostly dealing with politics. To be honest, as everyone may know, this industry is tough and can be cut throat if you don’t have the right team or guidance behind you. What you have to learn, is that, doing everything yourself will get you ahead more that paying anybody who says they can do anything for you.
NADIA WORSLEY: WHO ARE YOUR MUSIC INFLUENCES AND WHY?
KELDAMUZIK: I really dig Eminem, Left Eye, Da Brat, E-40, Luniz and more. I like the way all of these artists genuinely carry themselves. From being on stage, to the studio, and even during interviews. What you have to remember is when you’re a public figure, EVERYONE is watching and some of the artists I mentioned above stick to that.
NADIA WORSLEY: CAN YOU TALK ABOUT A FAN ENCOUNTER THAT COMPLETELY TOOK YOU BY SURPRISE? WHAT DID YOU DO?
KELDAMUZIK: I was doing an event in San Jose and when I was done, my friend and I went to grab a drink around the corner and this girl comes up to me starts reciting my lyrics to “Mr. Right“. I almost got emotional becuase it was touching to know that people are a fan of your creations. She was so excited to meet me in person and told me how she kept up with my reality TV series at the time, “DIVA TV“, and that she loved my music video which appeared on the show towards the end. It was a crazy meet up and I enjoyed every moment of her acknowledgment.
NADIA WORSLEY: WHO WOULD YOU HOPE TO COLLABORATE WITH IN THE FUTURE?
KELDAMUZIK: Where do I start? I want to collab with quite a few artists as well as some producers. Definitely Pharrell Williams, Timbaland, Just Blaze, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Fabolous, Rick Ross, Kanye West……just to name a few.
NADIA WORSLEY: WHAT PROJECT(S) ARE YOU WORKING ON NOW?
KELDAMUZIK: Right now i’m working on two music videos for my latest singles “THAT’S WHY” AND “QUEEN FOR A NIGHT“.
NADIA WORSLEY: IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE OF MUSIC, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
KELDAMUZIK: My music is edgy, sassy, yet classy and sophisticated in a witty way. There’s no limit to how I describe my music because it can change whenever.
NADIA WORSLEY: WHAT DO YOU HAVE AS AN ARTIST THAT CAN MAKE YOU STAND OUT AMONG THE REST OF THESE ARTISTS OUT HERE?
KELDAMUZIK: I’m just cool and I come off that way when you listen to me. I’m thorough and I detail as much as possible to make you visualize what I’m talking about. Not to mention, I’m quite intelligent when it comes to working behind the scenes of the music business itself, so I know how to do a lot more than some of these other rappers.
NADIA WORSLEY: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF TODAY’S MUSIC TREND?
KELDAMUZIK: It’s a trend, and it will move on to something else. I’m not mad. I can dig it and definitely adapt to it through my music as well.
NADIA WORSLEY: WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE THAT IS JUST GETTING THEIR MUSIC CAREER STARTED?
KELDAMUZIK: Do everything yourself, or have a close friend or family member help you out. Everything is all about connections, and if you meet others who want to support you, they will help you develop those important connections. Get yourself out there as a public figure first. Worry about being a celebrity later. Remember, it’s all about generating a fan base, so you have to get the community and people on your side first to support you. The business will come chasing after you later, once they know you are hot on the streets.
NADIA WORSLEY: Thank you Keldamuzik for this wonderful interview.
